After
graduating from Purdue in 1994 with a degree in Retail
Management, Jennifer soon realized the career path she
chose didn’t bring her the nurturing and inspiration
she desired. After attending Pivot Point's aesthitics
program in 1996 to pursue her passion in becoming a
make-up artist, her primary focus became skincare. She
has expanded her knowledge in skincare by continuing
her education with post-graduate work at the Dermal
Institute in European Techniques and Advanced Skin Analysis,
and attending both The Conservatory of Esthetics in
specialty make-up techniques, and the Aveda Institute
in Soho in Ayruvedic and Himalayan treatments. She has
also received accreditation in microdermabrasion and
glycolic treatments and has received certification in
LaStone body therapy.
Using a results-driven attitude to analyze not only
the face, but also the lifestyle of her clients, she
has found a welcome challenge in improving the imbalances
in her clients’ skin. By creating personalized
systems for each individual using advanced technology
such as microdermabrasion or Vascu-touch, coupled with
the use of cosmeceutical grade products, she has found
that no issue is too small or large to address.
The
customized treatment goes above and beyond her facial
studio. She may recommend healing herbal supplements,
acupuncture, hydrotherapy, etc. Jennifer is inspired
by the philosophy of a healthy mind, body and spirit
in achieving balance, cosmetically and internally. “There
is a satisfaction and pride that comes with offering
my knowledge to aid an individual in reaching their
goals.”
The
inception of Lustre came from compelling need to create
a nurturing and personalized space where she has the
ability to spend as much time with each client as necessary
without restrictions or an added charge., whether it’s
for a wax or for the treatment of serious skin abnormalities,
a relationship is built with each face that walks in
the door.

Part
owner Cynthia Mueller earned her Esthetics Degree from
Pivot Point in 2002 but initially started her career
in the industry as a nail technician four years prior
to that. After seeking guidance for her own chronic
skin issues, she immediately became interested in the
field of esthetics. After gaining product knowledge
and turning her complexion around, she embarked on a
journey to help others with skin complications.
Cynthia’s
beliefs and diagnoses for desired skin care lies in
the proper products. She asserts that just because a
product is trendy and has a following, it doesn’t
make it right for everyone’s skin type. With the
appropriate consultation and nurturing a client’s
needs, she has reconditioned and transformed the skin
of her entire clientele. With the knowledge of micro-dermabrasion,
glycolic treatments and organic product philosophy under
her belt, she has found her niche in the skincare industry.
In
addition to skincare, Cynthia’s found a new demographic
with her credentials in hair removal. After training
in brazilian style waxing, she’s gained recognition
for her ability to comfort her clients and with a precise
method. A brazilian is never the most comfortable service,
but she does what she can to make the experience the
least painful.
Her
goal and priority has always been to open her own business.
After working tirelessly for 4 years at Spa Space, Chicago’s
leading day spa, she established a partnership with
her colleague, Jennifer Clower. Together they compliment
each other and bring cutting edge talent to the skincare
business.
